Hello everyone!<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u2019s never easy to come back to work. Worse, it is sometimes very difficult to change schools. For this reason, our year-13 students (Terminales, in France) are welcoming our new students and try to answer the main questions they may have about their new schooling.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Do you remember your first day(s) in Andr\u00e9 Cuzin vocational school ?<\/h2>\n
\n

\u201cYes, I do\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn 2017, it seemed strange to me. What worried me the most was not to make new friends. With the benefit of hindsight, I had no reason to worry because I made new friends day after day. The one who welcomed me the most was my friend Isra\u00ebl\u201d (Jacob K.)<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I knew I was going to prepare a vocational baccalaureate, I saw it as something negative but I was wrong\u201d (Kyllian T.)<\/p>\n

\u201cOn my first day, I was calm because I had several friends from my neighbourhood with me. I was not alone\u201d (Fisnik H.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI was eager to discover the new courses\u201d (Isma\u00ebl D.)<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cI remember the smell and the colors of the walls\u201d (Eitan A.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI was totally stressed when I arrived in my new classroom, with new classmates and new teachers but, at the same time, I felt happy to learn new things. It was what I wanted to do. I looked forward to discovering work placements. \u201d (Yvan F.)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

What surprised you the most ?<\/h2>\n

\u201cThere were noisy areas, some bad-tempered pupils and not a lot of girls\u201d (Jacob K.)<\/p>\n

\u201cHere, people looked different; there were few women\u201d (Lars\u00e8ne B.)<\/p>\n

\u201cSometimes, there was a bad atmosphere in my class and this situation was really difficult to live. It was hard to focus on the lessons\u201d (Lucas G.)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

How did you choose your schooling at Cuzin ?<\/h2>\n
\n

\u00a0\u201cThanks to several work placements. As I was in \u20183\u00e8me pr\u00e9pa-pro\u2019 (a year 10 class including vocational discovery courses), I realized that I was interested in painting and electricity\u201d (Rom\u00e9o L.)<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cAfter year 10, my first choice was rather to go to a comprehensive school than to go to a vocational school but I was not accepted. Thus, when I arrived at Cuzin, my goal was to pass my exams to go further but I was not interested in plumbing\u201d (K\u00e9vin G.)<\/p>\n

\u201cEver since I was fifteen, I wanted to be a bricklayer\u201d (Jules I.)<\/p>\n

\u201cOur vocational school is located near Lyon in Caluire et Cuire. Various disciplines such as painting or plumbing are offered among the building trades\u201d (Jacob K.)<\/p>\n

\u201cFurthermore, there are lots of shopping centers in the surroundings!\u201d (Kevin P.)<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cI chose to become a heating and air-conditioning maintenance technician because it develops versatile skills\u201d (Najid B.L.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI like manual work even if it is very tiring\u201d (Serhat K.)<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen I was in year 10, they asked us to choose possible jobs for the future but, at that time, I didn\u2019t really think about it; so my parents chose for me. I was young and stupid and I regret it today ! Anyway, I\u2019ve recently found a good project for me but I must pass my exam first. It\u2019s never too late !\u201d (Ka\u00efs A.)<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

What do you like the most about your school ?<\/h2>\n

\u201cMost of the vocational education teachers are passionate. They give me more desire to learn\u201d (Kyllian T.)<\/p>\n

\u201cNow, I can install boilers, radiators, air-conditioning systems, showers or toilets\u2026\u201d (Melih O.)<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are entertainments such as a billiard table, a special room where we can read and relax and the school library is full of books; computers also are at our disposal\u201d (Jacob K.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI love the table soccer too!\u201d (David C.)<\/p>\n

\u201cIn my opinion, even if I didn\u2019t choose my studies, Andr\u00e9 Cuzin is one of the best vocational schools in Lyon. The teachers are kind and bossy. I\u2019ve learnt a lot of new things\u201d (Carlos M.C.)<\/p>\n

\u201cThe staff and the supervisors are nice\u201d (Jacob K.)<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are only twelve students in a classroom instead of more than thirty students previously – in year 10\u201d (Nathan P.)<\/p>\n

\u201cLearning to build and make wooden things is a satisfaction. The workshop is very big and there\u2019s a lot of machines\u201d (Lucas G.)<\/p>\n

\u201cWe do amazing school excursions !\u201d (Ilyess S.)<\/p>\n

\u201cMy best school excursion was to go to the cinema and my favourite subject is mathematics\u00a0\u00bb (Rapha\u00ebl A.)<\/p>\n

\u00a0\u201cMy best memory will be the canteen because it\u2019s really good\u201d (Andy N.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI was keen on joining the school association. Its aim is to improve the students\u2019 lives, in order to make them feel better\u201d (K\u00e9vin G.)<\/p>\n
